Overview:
 
Inclusion of the maritime sector in the EU ETS will increase shipowners’ obligations to acquire and surrender EU allowances (EUAs) over the coming years as part of the scheme’s phased approach. 
 
As an active participant in the EU ETS for more than a decade, helping a wide range of clients hedge their EUA exposures, we’re keen to share our knowledge and insights with this community. 
 
Our seminar will provide an overview of the EU ETS: how it works and applies to shipowners, fundamentals of the market (price, supply, demand drivers) and how to trade EUAs and finance this obligation with Macquarie’s support. The design involves a Duel Fuel propulsion system for a duel fuel ship type which is a workhorse of the industry, and aims to reach the required net zero caron emission performance, by progressively replacing the natural gas as fuel to the engines, with hydrogen, which is produced on board , on demand.

The studies completed to this end, ensure high energy efficiency and low fuel consumption, as well as very competitive acquisition and operating costs.

The issuance of AiP signifies that an outline specification for building the ship is in already in place, signify the maturity of the design and the detailed review of the ship performance
