Aid of the shipping industry in the battle against the pandemic

During these unprecedented trying times that our country is going through along with the entire planet, suffering from the Coronavirus pandemic, the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS), through its collective body, the Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company SYN-ENOSIS, and in parallel with private initiative, has launched a special purpose fundraising campaign to reinforce the national health system with the necessary medical equipment and consumables.

The President of the UGS and SYN-UNOSIS, Mr. Theodore Veniamis, stated: “In close cooperation with the Greek State, the Greek shipping community is committed to supporting with the provision of much needed supplies the medical and nursing staff of our country, who with self-denial are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic. Indicatively, 105 medical ventilators have already been provided and WE CONTINUE…”

The Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company SYN-ENOSIS

The Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company SYN-ENOSIS was founded in 2016 by members of the Greek Shipowners Union. SYN-ENOSIS’ task is to contribute to Greek society by supporting social welfare programmes and activities for vulnerable social groups and for projects of public interest, through the provision of humanitarian and charitable aid.
