As the pandemic seizes and things return back to normal, we are looking forward to opening up to new endeavors, having gained more flexibility and resilience. A short introduction of each member of our team will help you find the right person for your questions. J. Andrew Black, Esq. Vice President of Business Development and Deputy General Counsel Andrew has accumulated extensive commercial maritime experience from an early age. Since 2006, he has worked as a Ship’s Agent in Texas and California, Operations Manager in New York and New Jersey, and Quality Manager company-wide. More recently, Andrew obtained his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and spent significant time as a litigation associate with the admiralty law firm Farrell Smith O’Connell LLP. Presently, Andrew is focused on improving the scope and quality of Moran Shipping’s services, piloting its clients through an array of U.S. regulatory issues, and providing real-time legal insights and analysis. Daniel Van Duzer, Senior Vice President, Moran Shipping Agencies

Daniel Van Duzer serves as Senior Vice President of Operations at Moran Shipping Agencies. With over twenty years in the maritime industry, he brings a depth of experience in global oil and liquid cargo transportation. Daniel formerly launched and headed the Maritime and Port Security division, leading it to become a successful and critical offering in Moran’s portfolio of expertise. Daniel works end-to-end, as an entrepreneur to foster and develop business, and as an operations expert, ensuring client satisfaction to a broad base of US and international clients via proactive training, communications, and excellent 24/7 customer service.
Jason E. Kelly Executive Vice President 401 265 7225 Jason E. Kelly serves as Executive Vice President and as a board member for Moran Shipping Agencies, Inc., where he has worked in various roles since 1994 supporting innovations in information technology, business development, quality management, and new digital ventures. Jason is a passionate advocate for commercial shipping and smart-ocean planning, strongly supporting industry best practices in safety, security, and environmental stewardship.

Darren Shelton, Quality & Systems Director, Moran Shipping Agencies

Darren Shelton is a 26-year veteran of the maritime industry having managed multiple shipping agencies, serving as lead auditor in ISO quality management systems and most recently being tasked with driving their digital initiatives for a premier global maritime agency. In 2018 he envisioned a blockchain startup for the downstream energy sector which led to his co-founding FuelTrust, a data science company with Greentech SaaS solutions. Darren studied at Stephen F. Austin State University and Hope International University, has received honorary degrees from Alvin Community College and presently serves on the Board of Regents at ACC. He is Chairman of both the Lone Star Harbor Safety Committee and the Alvin-Manvel Area Chamber of Commerce, in addition to serving on the boards of several other community organizations. He and his family reside in the Houston suburb of Alvin TX.

David J. Dolan, Chief Executive Officer, Attender

For over 25 years David has led Ship Management Operations for Shipping Companies for all types for vessels from Polar to Subsea. David principal focus over this time been on HQES functions internally within these companies, as well as externally for third parties. However, in recent years he has also been in charge of shipboard/shore-side procurement, manning/crewing, technical management and providing executive leadership. David holds a BA from The University of Toronto (History) a Master’s Degree in Transportation Management from SUNY Maritime as well as an unlimited 2ND Mates License. Further, David has ISO 9001-2015, ISM/ISPS and ISO 14001-2015 Certification as a Lead Auditor from ABS. David is the CEO of ATTENDER. A digital marketplace bridging the gap between Ship Owners/Managers and Maritime Services Vendors providing a technically advanced solution using AI and Machine Learning for shipboard procurement.
