A platform for Developing new Partnerships

Surrounded by the sea, Denmark is a marine nation in its roots. Therefore, Denmark is home to a large range of world class suppliers of equipment to the maritime industry. Suppliers that are agile and ready to develop cutting edge-solutions in cooperation with their customers.

“Danish suppliers have worked with strict regulations in their own and neighboring markets, which makes them used to and very open to change and new ideas. This has proven to be an advantage, because making alterations to match specific needs is usually no problem at all,” says Mie Jakobsen, Head of Marine at Danish Export Association.

“Danish suppliers certainly have that ‘can do-attitude’,” she continues.

Turnkey solutions
This mindset is also evident when Danish suppliers collaborate to find the perfect turnkey solution for a customer or a project. “Traditionally, the companies in the Danish marine industry have developed and sold individual components to their customers. But now we see a movement towards more collaboration between the suppliers, so customers get a turnkey solution instead,” Mie Jakobsen says.

New partnerships at Posidonia
Therefore, joint marketing efforts at industry fairs like Posidonia is an advantage to both customers and suppliers. Customers can easily find the perfect solutions to fit their needs while the suppliers have a great platform to establishing new collaborations.
And Mie Jakobsen does expect Posidonia to be a platform for such collaborations.

“Greece is one of the world’s largest ship-owning nations with many trendsetting ship owners. This is where you meet both Greek and international customers,” she says. “We really look forward to getting out there and develop partnerships and engaging in new dialogue – show ship owners how we can support both new-buildings and everyday operations,” Mie Jakobsen rounds up.
