Panama stands out as the Logistics Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean at Posidonia 2022

The opportunity to present the advantages of Panama for the shipping business to more than 18,000 attendees and 1912 exhibitors of this sector.

Panama is present at Posidonia, the largest shipping trade fair for the maritime industry, where the experts of international maritime industry meet. With the purpose of securing new investments for the country in the logistics, maritime, and tourism sectors, Panama’s National Authority for Investment Attraction and Export Promotion, PROPANAMA will participate in this international shipping fair that will be carried out biannually in Athens, Greece, from 6th to the 10th of June of 2022.

Posidonia contributes on creating spaces for the main representatives of the global maritime sector to discuss and agree to a consensus to meet the commitment of the International Maritime Organization, with the goal of achieving, by 2030, a reduction of at least 40% of the average carbon intensity of maritime transport (CO2 per ton-mile), compared to 2008.

According to the organizers’ estimates, the record number of exhibitors is expected to be equal in comparison with the last Posidonia exhibition in 2018, which gathered around two thousand and nine exhibitors and had a total assistance of 39 thousand and 485 people, as specified by the website of the event.

PROPANAMA works alongside with the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), the Panama Canal Authority and the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), in an effort, as a country accompanied by more than 18 businesses of the national maritime and logistics sector, to make known the advantages of the maritime business in Panama and promote opportunities for nearshoring, maritime services, and shipping, for the Latin American and Caribbean markets.
